OKLAHOMA EM

Case reopened with fee update

  • EM is looking to place her baby boy. Below is a summary of the information I have from the agency. It is a lot of information, please read over everything before submitting.

  • The EM is looking for a heterosexual, African American couple or single. mom.

  • The baby is a boy, fully Black/African American, and due the due date is June 1.

EM found out she was pregnant around 6 months (February) and that is when she started getting prenatal care.

An ultrasound indicated the baby is a boy.

NOTE: Please be aware that the gender of the baby is based on the findings of the ultrasound. We can

not guarantee the sex of the baby at birth compared to the findings of the ultrasound.

  • She is a 23-year-old African American with a tan/brown complexion. She is 5’7” and her prepregnancy weight was 198 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. (I’ve seen a photo, she is pretty. If you wish to see her photo after submitting I’ll send it but I want to protect her privacy by not posting it).

This is her 3rd pregnancy: she had a miscarriage 4 years ago and currently parenting a 1-year-old son.

She and her son currently reside with her mother and she shared that her mother is a huge support for her, financially and emotionally. She shared that her son’s father is currently incarcerated, so she’s raising their son by herself. She shared that parenting her son alone has been hard, so having another baby so soon would only make things harder.

She is avoiding family events because she is hiding her pregnancy. She says no one will be able to provide her with the financial and mental help that she would need to care for this baby. She says her family won’t be able to affect her decision of adoption because ultimately, it’s not their choice or problem to deal with. She hopes that when her son’s father is released from jail, they can be a family and eventually move into their own place.

She feels that adoption is best for this child for many reasons. She shared that she’s financially unstable and there is no way she can take on another child while dealing with all that she has going on in her life. She shared that she wants this child to have a better life and better opportunities that she’s not able to give him. She has never been married and works part-time as a cashier at a local gas station.

  • She started receiving prenatal care in March 2023 and has regularly attended her scheduled appointments. The worker reviewed prenatal medical records and learned she has been treated for sexually transmitted infections during this pregnancy.

There were no other noted concerns regarding the mother or baby in the medical records. All tests have been negative or within normal range.

  • There are 2 potential birth fathers. She shared that she was out drinking and partying one night and met a guy, who she had unprotected sex with. She reports that she met another guy the same night and had sex with him as well.

She reports she was under the influence (alcohol) and really can’t remember much about that night.

The first potential father, she’s unsure of his name. He is African American and in his late 20’s. They met at a club and she can’t remember any other information about him. She thinks he’s a drug dealer and she thinks he ended up going to jail. She hasn’t had any contact with him since the night they had sex and he’s not aware that she is pregnant. She shared that they never dated and that he has not been financially or emotionally supportive to her during this pregnancy. She denied having any contact information for him.

The second potential father, she can’t remember his name. He’s African American and she’s unsure of his age. She shared that he looks young and could be younger than 25 years of age. She thinks he lives in her friend’s neighborhood where they met, but she reports not having any contact information for him. She reports that she hasn’t seen him since and she’s unsure of which house he goes to when he is in the neighborhood. She reports that her friend said she hasn’t seen him in the neighborhood since the night they all were hanging out.

No health information on either is available. They both drink alcohol and smoke marijuana.

  • She denies tobacco use. She reports she has never used tobacco. She reports she did drink alcohol during this pregnancy prior to knowing she was pregnant. She shared that from about 3 months to 6 months, she would drink a shot of Tequila once or twice per week. She shared that she stopped drinking when she was around 6 months pregnant; that is when she confirmed her pregnancy, and she hasn’t had any alcohol since.

She smoked marijuana and has for about 2 years. She smoked prior to becoming pregnant and admits to smoking during this pregnancy. reports that she used to smoke about 3 times per week and stopped smoking when she was around 7 months pregnant. She shared it’s been over a month since she has smoked marijuana.

  • She would like a semi-open adoption. She would like to have phone contact and meet the adoptive family prior to the baby being born. At this time she is unsure if she wants to have letters, updates and photographs post-placement. She does not wish to have visits or phone calls with the family or child post-placement. She would like to set up child connect for pictures and updates for her to have access to if and when she is ready and comfortable to view.

She is open to the child contacting her when he reaches adulthood if he chooses.

  • She will sign her consent/relinquishment in front of a District Court Judge after she is discharged from the hospital. There is no set time frame for consent, it will depend on the judge’s availability and how quickly her attorney can get her on the docket. Until she signs her consent, she can change her mind, but once the consent is signed it is irrevocable.

Unless is able to provide any additional information on either putative father, a hearing for termination

will be set and notice will be published in a legal paper. This hearing is generally 30 to 45 days after the

    consent
