PENNSYLVANIA BIRTH MOM
The deadline has passed. They said they will send an update June 9 or June 10. I will update this when I get it from the agency.
-
The birth mom is looking to place her 2-month & 2-week-old baby girl for adoption. Below is a summary of the information I have so far from the adoption agency for your review.
-
The mom is open to all parenting dynamics.
This agency does not work with New York or New Jersey
-
The baby is an African American girl that was born March 27. There were no complications with the pregnancy and she was born healthy.
CPS BACKGROUND:
There was an incident on 4/27/23 where mom placed her infant daughter on an air mattress and turned her back for a moment. The baby and bed had been placed at an angle and baby rolled down from gravity. Mom did not realize baby rolled and sat down on her by mistake. She was very remorseful of the incident and took her baby to the hospital immediately. The end result is that the baby had a broken femur. The hospital suspected potential child abuse or neglect due to child’s young age and type of injury as stated in medical record, but this has not been confirmed. Hospital not entirely sure this is abuse or neglect, but takes cautious route and notifies CPS just in case. Mom states complete accident. Per medical records, other than this injury, child is healthy.
CPS is involved and the child was put into the care of mom’s biological grandmother until a plan could be determined. She still has custody of her daughter and recently has a status meeting with CPS. Mom informed CPS that she was placing her baby for adoption as she did not feel she could keep her safe. CPS accepted this as a resolution and is waiting on mom to proceed with the private adoption process. However, they want an adoptive family chosen now.
The child is doing great and is medically stable. She is expected to make a full recovery and does not have any special needs. The baby’s doctor visit on 5/17/23 indicates that the injury is healing. She is in a harness as she heals and it can be taken off for baths. Harness to be removed once injury fully removed. The baby is prescribed Tylenol for discomfort as needed

She is African American, 21 years old and single. She’s 5’6”, 150 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.
She feels emotionally and financially incapable of raising her daughter. She was raised by foster parents and has limited contact with her biological family. I assume this is why she would rather make an adoption plan than risk the baby being stuck in the foster care system.
She is a high school graduate that got mostly Bs.
-
The baby is healthy with no complications or additional concerns.
Mom reports having depression, ADHD, anxiety & PTSD.
-
He is African American, 6’0”, 200 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. He has not been involved and will not contest the adoption. He said he doesn’t care what she does.
-
No exposures have been reported.
-
Semi-open adoption with photos and updates.
-
Supportive services that could be added to her environment so that she could keep her child, placing with a relative or placing into foster care temporarily until she produced other ideas. She does not believe that any of these scenarios are viable options and would prefer to plan for adoption. She was further counseled on being sure about her decision, taking additional time to think about her decision, health history background, genetics, open vs closed adoption, financial assistance availability, adoption planning, confidentiality, the process of choosing an adoptive family, understanding the experiences and emotions that adoptive families encounter and process at various points during the adoption process, the option of expectant mom coaching, the adoption process, various emotions that she may experience before, during and post birth, the irreversible nature of her decision, managing emotions in the future, how to discuss adoption with those in her life, birth father matters, the grief process, PAD (post adoption depression), holidays, memories, triggers, pictures, memory books, good-bye ceremony options, her rights and responsibilities during the adoption process, managing expectations, the birth

*Disclaimer* I’ve heard mixed reviews about this agency and wasn’t planning to share more of their situations but since this is a born child I figured the chances of scams were low and you could likely have the baby in hand before the 24-hour period to make the match fee. They may collect the full payment at pickup. Please have your attorney read over any/all agreements sent.
The agency charges a $100 submission fee to have your profile submitted.
