EM is an African American, recently divorced mom with 6 children from her marriage. She was dating someone after her divorce that became abusive. She does not want a reminder of that relationship and thinks adoption is the best plan.
She is educated: recently received her Master’s degree and passed her boards to be a nurse practitioner.
Reason for placing:
Her ex-husband is MIA and not offering assistance with their children. She can’t take on another child while trying to focus on her career.
-
She reports being bipolar and takes Effexor daily.
She takes allergy medication, Zofran for pregnancy-related nausea, Adderall for ADHD, and occasionally takes Tylenol/Asprin and Advil-Motrin for migraines
Her mom has a sickle cell trait, her brother has the disease. One of her daughters has diabetes. She & her brother have ADHD. There is some obesity on her mother’s side and a stillbirth on her mother’s side
-
Dad is known but MIA with no interest in parenting. He was abusive towards the EM so there is no contact.
-
The only alcohol exposure was once when she was around 5 weeks pregnant.
-
She wants a call with the HAPs but after birth, she wants a closed adoption.
